As I was sitting up one night with my mother, talking about this and that, I found myself confessing my distaste for the general lack of stomach when it comes to honesty. I'm at a point in my life where even the thought of sugarcoating the truth is nauseating.
Of course I'm not referring to the occasional white lie or even the menial (and not so menial) lies we may find ourselves falling into on any given day. These things are a way of life and always will be. I'm referring to the fact that people are almost often forced to lie because no one can... well, handle the truth.
I have a tendency to hurt peoples feelings or offend strangers by the things that come out of my mouth. While I find I have to take some personal responsibility when it comes to holding my tounge, I find more frequently that the problem lies with these blinders society has tried to force upon us over the years. We've been numbed so much that now even simple truths shock us. While you shouldn't go around saying whatever you feel to whomever you feel like, you should be able to speak your mind without getting napalmed with overreactions.
This is where the idea for the Honest Bitch blog entries came from. In an effort to fill the void on my blog that this transitional moment in my life has left, I will commentate on the things I do, see, and hear with reckless truth.
Maybe one day they will be their own little blog, but for now, the HB entries will live here because it was something I said I was gonna do and here I am doing it.
If you have any topics you want honest-fied, email me at imgonnadothatgirl@gmail.com! Catch y'all on the flip side.

Gifs to Describe My Grief Over Not Keeping Up With This Blog
In other news, I had a super fabulous weekend in Raleighwood that involved things like swimming and cheap champagne. I'm starting to truly master this whole weekend concept. I think I'll be an expert soon enough...
Tonight I'm gonna brainstorm for this and my other severely malnourished blogs, and tomorrow I'm gonna work and run errands.

To Err Is Human, To Do Is Also Human

(A reenactment of my face upon realizing I missed another post.)
Despite this grievous error, the past two days have been pretty productive. It went as it usually does: as soon as I stopped worrying as much, things just kinda fell into place.
After my entry Thursday, I found it easier to scrub my kitchen counters and polish my dishes. I found it easier to read (and laugh at) the small David Sedaris book I've been sporting. I found resumés easier to send.
As some kind of sign from the post-grad universe, I was suddenly inundated with a flood of important and hopeful information about the business trip I was wishing I could actually take. If I could go back in time and tell my 6-months-ago self that I'd be dreaming of being busy and working again, I wouldn't. I know Rachel 2010 edition would laugh so hard in my face she would cry. And maybe pee a little.
In light of my new job search breakthrough, Friday found me packing and traveling back down the mountain so that I could be in proximity to the train station. I ate a healthy dinner and caught a late showing of "Your Highness" with the boys. I recommend on the looks of Natalie Portman and James Franco alone, but only if you have an advanced sense of humor. By that, I mean you can't be offended by the occasional penis.
All of these things add up to a great list of both planned and unplanned gonnas. (5 & 2, in case you were keeping count or just confused by the schizophrenic nature of this entry.)
Today I'm gonna inform those who I feel would want/need to know about my trip before I reveal it to the blogosphere. I'm gonna get myself organized and ready to go. I'm gonna rest and hopefully see some friends.
Sunday, I'm gonna reveal the first BIG gonna in a very long list. Hold on to ya butts.
